InfoRange: The Digital Training Platform for the Information Environment

![]()
The information environment is becoming increasingly important — particularly for training, mission preparation, and exercises.
InfoRange® makes it possible to realistically simulate this environment and integrate it as a core component of training and exercises.
Simulation of the Information Environment for Training

How InfoRange Realistically Simulates the Information Environment
InfoRange® creates a realistic digital information environment and integrates it into training and exercises. To achieve this, the platform simulates key elements of modern information spaces.
With InfoRange®, you can:
- simulate social media and online discourse
- incorporate news portals and media reporting into scenarios
- simulate digital information dynamics realistically
- make participants’ decisions and actions visible within the information environment
- integrate media reactions, narratives, and information campaigns into exercises
This creates a dynamic environment that responds to participants’ decisions and reflects real-world information dynamics in training and exercises.

InfoRange Use Cases in Training and Exercises
InfoRange® is used across a range of training and exercise contexts to realistically simulate the information environment and to develop capabilities for creating effects in the information space.
- Strategic Communications (StratCom)
Simulation of narratives, media reactions, and information dynamics in complex information environments.
- Analysis and Effects in the Information Environment
Training to assess digital information environments, as well as to plan and evaluate actions within the information environment.
- Public Affairs & Crisis Communication
Realistic media scenarios for communication teams in exercises and crisis simulations.
- Integration into Large-Scale Exercises
Parallel simulation of the information environment as a complement to military exercises, wargames, and crisis simulations.

Developed for Training in the Information Environment
InfoRange® was developed in close collaboration with the NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence (StratCom COE) to provide realistic support for training and exercises in the information environment.
The platform is used in international training and exercise settings and is continuously adapted to meet the requirements of armed forces, government agencies, and security organizations. Operational insights from trainings, exercises, and information environment scenarios are directly incorporated into its ongoing development.
The innovative strength behind InfoRange® has also been recognized through its selection as a finalist in the NATO Innovation Challenge 2021, “The Invisible Threat: Countering Cognitive Warfare.”
