Workshop at the NCC 2024

How can Strategic Communications be trained under conditions that truly reflect today’s information environment? This question was at the center of our workshop at the NATO Communicators Conference 2024 in Berlin.

The conference, held from August 26 to 29, brought together professionals from NATO, member states, institutions, and industry. Under the theme “Strategic Communications across the Warfighting Spectrum,” it provided a high-level platform for exchange on the evolving role of communication in modern operations.

Live Simulation with InfoRange at the NATO Communicators Conference

During our workshop, we introduced InfoRange® to a highly specialized audience. We also shared insights into its ongoing development in collaboration with NATO StratCom COE. The focus was on one key challenge: how to make the information environment realistically trainable. We explored how modern StratCom training requires simulation environments that can capture the complexity of digital ecosystems, evolving narratives, and diverse audiences.

Looking ahead, we also discussed future developments. We demonstrated how the platform continues to evolve to meet emerging requirements in the information environment.

The direct exchange with experts working daily on strategic communications, information operations, and digital influence made this session particularly valuable. Their feedback provides an important foundation for further development.

A highlight of the workshop was a live simulation, where we demonstrated the practical application of InfoRange® in real time.

This allowed participants to experience how digital information spaces, narratives, and audience reactions can be simulated within an exercise environment – and how these elements can be used to train communication under realistic conditions.

For us, participating in the NATO Communicators Conference 2024 was an important opportunity to present InfoRange® in a highly relevant professional environment, gather direct feedback from practitioners, and contribute to the ongoing dialogue on the role of the information environment in modern operations.

The conference itself serves as a key platform for knowledge exchange and networking between NATO, Allies, and industry – reinforcing the growing importance of Strategic Communications across the full spectrum of operations.
